The Faculty of Education has a long history of emphasizing the importance of exceptional teaching. In recognition of the significant contribution that Sessional and Lecturer faculty members make to our programs, the Faculty offers a Sessional and Lecturer Faculty Teaching Prize to outstanding educators. The prize includes both a plaque and $1000, and is open to any individual holding an appointment as a Sessional, Lecturer or Adjunct Teaching Professor (seconded teacher) during the current academic year.

Dr. Won Kim, LLED
As a researcher, scholar, and educator, Dr. Won Kim is committed to teaching that acknowledges the intersections of second language pedagogy, drama, literature, curriculum, culture, and identity. Dr. Kim capitalizes on his many academic accomplishments to offer instruction that is current, engaging, and innovative. Since 2006, Dr. Kim has been actively involved as a teaching assistant and instructor in a wide range of courses. Responses from his students enthusiastically commend Dr. Kim ’s energetic commitment, characteristic care, and knowledgeable expertise. He establishes an engaging and supportive classroom environment where participants are eager to explore creative possibilities and critical questions. Dr. Kim is a cutting-edge scholar and an esteemed teacher.
