Dr. Blye Frank, Dean of the Faculty of Education at The University of British Columbia is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Little as Director of UBC’s International Baccalaureate Educator Programs effective June 1, 2014.
Mr. Little brings to the position 36 years of experience with the Vancouver School District in numerous roles including teacher, counselor, Vice Principal, Principal and Associate Superintendent. Since retiring from the Vancouver School Board in 2010, Mr. Little has served as an Education Consultant.
Currently a member of International Baccalaureate Americas’ (IBA) Regional Council, Mr. Little has contributed to IB as a curriculum developer, consultant and conference presenter. He is scheduled to lead a pre-conference session at this year’s IBA conference in Washington, DC: IB in Our Public Schools: Not Another Reform Movement.
As Director of UBC Faculty of Education’s burgeoning IB programs, Mr. Little will be responsible for international student recruitment, liaising with local and national IB organizations and the International Baccalaureate Organization, identifying and engaging international program sponsors for deserving students, developing a strategic plan for UBC’s IB program offerings, and representing UBC’s IB programs in local, national and international venues.
