A Montreal Gazette article on the inclusion of mental-wellness skills in the new BC curriculum quoted UBC education professor emerita Dr. Lynn Miller.
“Anxiety is the most preventable mental health problem, and the techniques used in the program are scientifically proven to reduce anxious feelings and shift those thoughts,” said Dr. Miller, a registered psychologist and consultant to the FRIENDS Program, a Ministry of Children and Family Development program which aims to prevent childhood anxiety through mindfulness.
