The UBC Faculty of Education is ranked 2nd in Canada and has risen to 10th in North America in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject
Now in its 22nd year, the QS World University Rankings evaluates more than 1,900 institutions worldwide. Subject rankings are determined using a range of indicators, including academic and employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index (a measure of research productivity and impact), and international research collaboration. Among these, academic reputation—reflecting research quality and global influence—carries the greatest weight.
This improved result speaks to the ongoing contributions of our researchers, faculty, students, staff, donors and partners. It underscores a shared commitment to advancing innovative, inclusive and impactful work in education.
