Indigenous Education
Promotion of Indigenous knowledge and engagement with Indigenous communities are signature strengths of our Faculty. From reducing barriers to access to ensuring that Indigenous pedagogies are embedded in our programs and services, our Faculty is a national and international leader in the field. With all this, there is still more to accomplish.
Mental Health Literacy
One in five adults will experience a mental health illness in their lifetime. Our Faculty is working to ensure educators are able to recognize, understand, and support students with mental health challenges.
Supporting Returning Veterans
Returning veterans are often dealing with trauma, isolation, and stress. With proper support, they can transition into healthy and productive civilian life.
Sexuality and Gender Inclusive Education
A strong focus within our Faculty is removing heteronormativity and binaries from our programs and operations to ensure that students, staff, and faculty feel safe and welcome. Additionally, we prepare educators to be inclusive of various forms of identity in all learning settings, including public school classrooms.
