Please join us in congratulating Dr. Wendy Carr on receiving the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers’ Robert Roy award.
The Robert Roy Award recognizes individuals who by their commitment and dedication have advanced the field of second language education.
Dr. Wendy Carr is a leader in French education and a recognized champion of second language education. Since beginning her career as an educator in the public school system, she has gone on to develop new education programs, conduct groundbreaking research on language learning methodology, and has prepared educators to inspire French learning in British Columbia’s classrooms.
While producing an impressive body of academic work, Dr. Carr remained an educator and is currently a tenured faculty member in the Department of Language and Literacy Education. She has been repeatedly recognized as a talented instructor and dedicated mentor.
CASLT’s Robert Roy award is an acknowledgement of the influence Dr. Carr has had in shaping second language teaching and learning in Canada through teaching French, and providing leadership in organizations around the world.
