Vancouver Campus
The Faculty of Education Vancouver Campus offers the largest and most comprehensive teacher education program in British Columbia.
The only one with specialized preparation in all secondary school subject areas, thematic cohort-based elementary and middle years options, and Canada’s only International Baccalaureate Educator stream — in a 12-month program. University of British Columbia Vancouver also offers a rural teacher education program in the West Kootenay and its renowned Indigenous education program (NITEP) in three field centres. Completing our program leads to a Bachelor of Education degree and eligibility for teacher certification by the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
Okanagan Campus
To inspire and be inspired is at the heart of University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus.
The 16-month BEd program provides significant practical experience with a generalist focus and putting students and the quality of their learning first and foremost. Teacher candidates work within communities of practice that include prospective and practising educators in diverse learning settings to collaboratively develop professional knowledge. Completing our program leads to a Bachelor of Education degree and eligibility for teacher certification by the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
