A former UBC Thunderbirds player and Kinesiology alumnus begins his second year as an NBA assistant coach to the Toronto Raptors.
“I had to pinch myself like 50 times,” Jama Mahalela said when he first heard he got the Raptors gig. “Like, ‘Is this really happening to me?’
A UBC sports award is named after him.
