Members of ETS presented at the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) conference (https://cnie2019.arts.ubc.ca/), hosted at UBC in May. Here is a brief recap:
Ian Linkletter and Stoo Sepp presented on the Faculty of Education’s leadership in implementing Mattermost team chat to enhance communication and build community. Mattermost (https://ets.educ.ubc.ca/mattermost/) is available for use in any course, program, or cohort.
Dr. Natasha Boskic and Ian Linkletter presented on the Faculty of Education’s self-paced mental health education courses (https://pdce.educ.ubc.ca/open-learning/). They were developed in partnership with Teach Mental Health (teachmentalhealth.org) and two other Faculties of Education in Canada.
And, Dr. Natasha Boskic and Dr. Mari Pighini presented on how web conferencing, Mattermost team chat, and other technologies are used in the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education program. Technology is used to engage students in collaborative and in a more immediate way.
