Fundraising Projects
Advancing student learning, research excellence and community engagement
The Faculty of Education’s Development and Alumni Engagement office works with donors and alumni to facilitate philanthropy that reflects their values and passions, while enhancing the student learning experience, research excellence, and community engagement in alignment with UBC’s strategic plan, Shaping UBC’s Next Century, and the Faculty of Education’s strategic plan, Learning Transformed.
We welcome the opportunity to learn more about your priorities and interests, and invite you to explore our current priority projects below—each representing a meaningful way to make a lasting impact on education and community.
Walk With Us: The Path Toward Reconciliation
This initiative addresses systemic barriers facing Indigenous learners and uplifts the vital role of Indigenous knowledge in education. UBC’s Faculty of Education is committed to preparing leaders who advance reconciliation, equity, and inclusion through teaching, mentorship, and community engagement. With donor support, we can invest in Indigenous futures, build bridges between cultures, and ensure education becomes a force that heals and unites.
We invite you to join us on this path forward, advancing with each step toward solidarity and understanding, and leveraging the transformative power of education.
Bimema Family Award in Teacher Education
Dr. Bathseba Opini, in collaboration with then Dean Blye Frank, created this fund to honour, appreciate and reciprocate her family’s tradition of educators who have deep commitment and passion for education in their community.
CampOUT!
Did you know that 100% of donations go directly to the CampOUT! program and help to make positive impacts on youth and their communities? Donations are used to run the camp and to provide travel bursaries so that participants from all over the province can attend, regardless of their financial means. With your help, we can ensure that everyone who wants to attend CampOUT! can do so, regardless of financial constraints.
Dean Blye Frank Graduate Scholarship in Education
In honour of Dean Blye Frank’s lifelong research focusing on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Education, Dr. Robert Quartermain has established this graduate scholarship at UBC. Your gift will support outstanding graduate students in the Faculty of Education whose research focuses on creating education policy and education curriculum, and educating educators in Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) inclusive education.
