Faculty-wide Commitments

The Faculty’s Strategic Plan, Learning Transformed, outlines our priorities, core areas, goals and objectives for 2019-2024. Our mission—to advance the role of education in the wellbeing of people and communities—is manifest in our ongoing commitments to:

Indigenous Education

“From reducing barriers to access to ensuring that Indigenous pedagogies are embedded in our programs and services, our Faculty is a national and international leader in the field. With all this, there is still more to accomplish.”

Mental Health Literacy

“One in five adults will experience a mental health illness in their lifetime. Our Faculty is working to ensure educators are able to recognize, understand, and support students with mental health challenges.”

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization

“We all don’t start at the same place… it is very important to have equity, diversity, and inclusion, decolonization, anti-racism, Indigeneity at the heart of everything we do… it should be infused in our work.”

Supporting Returning Veterans

“Returning veterans are often dealing with trauma, isolation, and stress. With proper support, they can transition into healthy and productive civilian life.”
