Call for Nominations | 2018 ABCDE Awards

By domansky

The Association of BC Deans of Education will honour two individuals at the annual Teacher Education Roundtable Conference to be held May 3-4, 2018, at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. The awards are subject to the receipt of suitable nominations.

An award to a TEACHER EDUCATOR at the school or university level who has distinguished herself/himself in partnering with a teacher education program in B.C. For example, a nominee may have provided exceptional mentoring of preservice teachers for a number of years and/or may have been actively involved in partnership discussions or leadership on improvements to a post-secondary teacher education program.

An award to an EDUCATION ADVOCATE, someone who has distinguished himself/herself as an advocate for Education. A nominee for this award might be one who has written thoughtful analyses of education or teacher education and/or who has consistently provided strong support for BC Education.

Each winner will receive an engraved plaque and a cheque for $500. A press release will be issued to honour the winners publicly.

Nominations, with full documentation, should be received by Friday, March 2, 2018.

Submissions should be sent by e-mail to Sandra Bruneau, Executive Director, ABCDE, sandra.bruneau@gmail.com, or by regular mail c/o 3817 West 16th Avenue, Vancouver BC V6R 3C6.

Nominations should include a letter from the nominator with the nominee’s name, position, and contact information, in addition to reasons why the nominee would be a worthy recipient of an ABCDE award. Up to three additional pages of support materials are allowed for each nomination. The winners will be decided by an ABCDE Awards Committee.

For further information, please contact Sandra Bruneau, sandra.bruneau@gmail.com; telephone: 604-224-3889.
