This month we shine the spotlight on Janeen Mills, Administrative Assistant, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education.

  • How long have you worked with the Faculty of Education?
  • I started in January 2018
  • Can you summarize what you do in the Faculty of Education?
  • My role consists of administrative duties, HR and financial processing, supply management and mail distribution.
  • What is your favourite thing about working at UBC?
  • All the effort towards health and wellbeing; creating an open and accepting environment including breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness.
  • What is one moment this past year that has been truly memorable?
  • Getting the funding to implement the ECPS community garden in between Neville Scarfe and the Earth Sciences building! Check it out while walking on campus! Email me if you’re interested in joining!
  • What is one interesting fact about you that people may not know?
  • I teach yoga and am so grateful to share the knowledge that has been passed on to me.
  • If you could travel anywhere in the world next week, where would you want to go?
  • India, to learn more about the culture, the origins of yogic philosophy and to continue being a student of yogic traditions.
