The UBC School of Kinesiology, together with the UBC Okanagan School of Health and Exercise Sciences, are ranked 2nd in North America and 5th globally for sports-related subjects according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject
The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings has released its 21st annual edition, featuring over 1,500 institutions across 105 locations globally. QS evaluates university rankings by subject using several key performance indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index (which measures the productivity and impact of an academic or department), and international research network. The academic reputation category, which assesses a university’s research quality and global impact, is weighted most heavily.
The School of Kinesiology in the Faculty of Education achieved an impressive score of 90.2 out of 100 in this year’s rankings for the category of sports-related subjects. These rankings reflect our ongoing commitment to leadership in promoting academic and research excellence, as well as the importance of advancing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all.
