Alumni Breakfast & Matinee: How To Train Your Dragon | January 28, 2024

Embrace the festive spirit this Lunar New Year with a morning of joyous camaraderie, delectable food, and an enchanting movie experience! We invite you to a heartwarming alumni gathering that celebrates the Year of the Dragon. Indulge in a delightful continental breakfast and join us for a special screening of the beloved 2010 film, “How To Train Your Dragon.” Let’s usher in the new year together in a spirit of unity and celebration. See you there for a morning filled with families, community, and the magic of the dragon!

Please note that this event is open to Faculty of Education alumni and their families only.

About the Movie

“How to Train Your Dragon” is an animated action and fantasy film that follows the journey of Hiccup, a young Viking who aspires to be a dragon slayer. However, when he encounters a mysterious dragon, his perspective changes. The film explores the unlikely friendship that develops between Hiccup and the dragon, Toothless, as they embark on a journey that challenges the longstanding beliefs of their Viking village. The story is a heartwarming and captivating tale of discovery, acceptance, and the power of understanding. The movie has a runtime of 1 hour and 38 minutes.

  • 10:15 AM – Registration opens for arrival
  • 10:30 AM – Continental breakfast & light reception
  • 11:25 AM – Guests collect popcorn and soda and proceed to the theatre
  • 11:30 AM – Movie screening begins

  • 12 and under – $8.00
  • 13 and older  – $12.00
