COURSES

We can assure you that your immediate upcoming courses will be hosted online. We are working on plans for courses up until the end of June, 2020 (2020S1).

FIELD EXPERIENCES

At noon on March 17, 2020, the BC government announced that in-class teaching of K to 12 will be suspended indefinitely. We understand that you may have concerns as to how to this will impact your future courses or practicums. It is fortuitous that in the OSE BEd program, you had the chance to complete EDUC 441 – your 5-week Field Experience.

We are hopeful that schools will resume regular operations by September, but as the situation is rapidly evolving we have to wait and see what develops in regard to EDUC 444.

COMMUNITY FIELD EXPERIENCE

As there are a number of uncertainties surrounding community placements in your Community Field Experience (CFE), we have made the decision that there will be an inquiry-based assignment in lieu of your CFE (EDUC 442). You must still, if you have not already, register for this course (EDUC 442) as part of your program. Your health and safety is our number one priority and we felt it was better to arrange an alternate delivery. We understand you and your community partner may be disappointed. We encourage you to send a quick email to your partner thanking them for agreeing to host you and wishing them all the best in these trying times.
