Safety Plan Update

In my last bulletin, I mentioned that the Office of the Dean was working on a plan to allow limited, scheduled building access to faculty who wish to work in their campus offices. I am pleased to let you know that our Faculty of Education Safety Plan has been drafted and is in the process of being reviewed before being submitted to Safety and Risk Services (SRS) for approval. The Safety Plan will be posted on the Faculty’s COVID-19 page on Monday, July 28th. DNSO Communications will provide a link and related information, including a Qualtrics survey, in Monday’s edition of Education Update. I ask all of you—faculty, staff and students—to review the draft plan and provide feedback through the survey. Our goal is to submit the plan for approval by the end of next week.

As a reminder, before anyone can return to on-campus work, they will be required to complete an online training course. The mandatory module, Preventing COVID-19 Infection in the Workplace training is accessible through the Workplace Learning (WPL) platform. To complete the training you must enroll in the course after logging in with your CWL.

We invite all members of our Faculty of Education community to review the approved Research Resumption Plan (version 2.1).

Any subsequent plans and amendments/addenda can also be found on the Faculty’s Policies and Procedures web page: https://faculty-staff.educ.ubc.ca/policies-procedures/. The password to access the documents is FoE-RRP-COVID-19.
