Dean’s Awards for Staff Excellence 2022–23

Dr. Jan Hare, Dean pro tem, presented this year’s Dean’s Awards for Staff Excellence at Faculty of Education Staff Appreciation Lunch.

The Outstanding Service Award and the Emerging Leader Award recognize excellence in personal achievements and contributions to the Faculty of Education, UBC and to the vision and goals of the University.

Outstanding Service Award

The Outstanding Service Award honours a staff member who displays a commitment to serving people in the Faculty or in the broader University community, among other attributes.

Graduate Program Assistant
Department of Language and Literacy Education (LLED)

Alya is commitment to our graduate student community, including student advising, admissions, and academic support. She is highly knowledgeable, diligent, and dedicated towards helping students succeed. Ayla is a valued member of the Department of Language and Literacy Education and is very much appreciated by faculty members, staff, and students alike.

Sarah models a sense of mission for co-workers and goes above and beyond to identify new opportunities to support educators and facilitate collaborations with educational partners. She displays exceptional leadership and uses innovative approaches to ensure our programs can effectively inspire excellence in professional and personal development for our staff and students.
