Dr. Michelle Stack, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, was recently awarded a Public Engagement Award by UBC’s Public Humanities Hub. The Public Engagement Awards were created to honour individuals who have exhibited outstanding public humanities engagement in the past two years.
Dr. Stack, who was selected for the award from among 30 nominees, was cited for her research on the ways in which university rankings reinforce inequities and narrow definitions of what “counts” as scholarly work in the academy Dr. Stack’s new book, Global University Rankings and the Politics of Knowledge, which is now available online through UBC’s Open Collections.
