Dr. Surita Jhangiani appointed Interim Associate Dean, Equity, commencing July 2, 2024
As Interim Associate Dean, Equity, Dr. Surita Jhangiani provides strategic leadership to advance the Faculty’s equity priorities, fostering transformative teaching, innovative learning and leading-edge research guided by the highest standards of scholarship, collaboration, equity and inclusion.
Dr. Jhangiani is the David Lam Chair in Multicultural Education, providing support to increase interest, programming and engagement in multicultural and anti-racist education, and to assist schools to foster multiculturalism. She has received two Open Educational Resource Champion awards from the University of British Columbia and was recognized as the Faculty of Education’s 2023 Universal Design for Learning Fellow. She is currently involved in projects related to open pedagogy, alternative grading and belonging as it relates to learning and teaching.
