The Faculty of Education Vancouver Campus offers the largest and most comprehensive teacher education program in British Columbia.

Our program offers specialized preparation in all secondary school subject areas, thematic cohort-based elementary and middle years options, and Canada’s first ever International Baccalaureate educator stream — in an 11-month program. University of British Columbia Vancouver also offers a rural teacher education program in the West Kootenays and its renowned Indigenous education program, NITEP. Completion of the program leads to a Bachelor of Education degree and eligibility for teacher certification by the BC Ministry of Education’s Teacher Certification Branch.

To inspire and be inspired is at the heart of the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus.

The 16-month BEd program provides significant practical experience with a generalist focus, putting students and the quality of their learning first and foremost. Teacher candidates work within communities of practice that include prospective and practising educators in diverse learning settings to collaboratively develop professional knowledge. Completion of the program leads to a Bachelor of Education degree and eligibility for teacher certification by the BC Ministry of Education’s Teacher Regulation Branch.
