UBC School of Kinesiology, together with the UBC Okanagan School of Health and Exercise Sciences, are ranked 1st in North America and 3rd globally for sports-related subjects according to the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject
The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings have released their 20th annual installment, featuring 1,500 institutions across 104 locations worldwide. QS evaluates university rankings by subject through four key performance indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, and H-index. The academic reputation category, which measures the quality of the university’s research, its effectiveness in communicating that research, and the global impact of its research, is weighted most heavily.
The School of Kinesiology in the Faculty of Education achieved an impressive score of 90.8 out of 100 in this year’s rankings for the category of sports-related subjects. These rankings reflect our ongoing commitment to leadership in promoting academic and research excellence, as well as the importance of advancing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all.
