We are pleased to announce The 45th Annual Conference of the Association for Moral Education will be held November 7-9, 2019, at the Motif Hotel in Seattle, Washington, USA. The theme is “Morality and Ethics for the Digital World.”
The conference welcomes sessions and preconference workshops on any related topic in morality, ethics and moral education, especially, but not exclusively, related to the conference theme.
Submissions are sought from scholars and practitioners in the fields such as moral psychology, philosophy, sociology, and education; computer and information science and ethics; science and technology studies; cultural and media studies and from policymakers, network and software engineers, cyber security professionals, teachers, PhD students and practitioners. All submissions will be peer reviewed.
We also encourage submissions based on national or international comparative studies from researchers outside of North America.
Suggested Topics include:
- Responsible technological innovations and their effects on morality, education, democracy and sociality
- Policymaking and digitization issues for democratic societies, including international issues
- Ethical issues of artificial intelligence, big data algorithms, new technologies, machine learning and autonomous vehicles
- Moral education and digital technologies at all age levels; formal and informal education, including migrant children from low-income countries and war zones.
Proposals include Individual (or Group) Presentation, Symposium, Thematic Lunch Discussion (extra fee), One-Hour Workshop or Discussion, Poster or Media Presentation, New Book Session. Pre-conference workshop proposals are also welcome.
