UBC launches early childhood education certificate program for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people
Beginning in September, adult learners who are Deaf or hard of hearing can enroll in a B.C. early childhood education basic certificate program that has been adapted to meet their learning needs. It’s the first program of its kind in Canada.

Dr. Claudia Ruitenberg appointed President-Elect of the Philosophy of Education Society
The Faculty of Education is delighted to announce that Dr. Claudia Ruitenberg, has been appointed President-Elect of the Philosophy of Education Society (PES). Dr. Ruitenberg will serve as President in 2024–2025 and will preside over the Philosophy of Education Society Conference in March 2025.

2022-23 Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) funding recipients
Congratulations to Dr. Andrea Bundon, Dr. Rosalin Miles and Dr. E. Wayne Ross on receiving Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) funding. A total of $747,270 was awarded to 31 successful projects. Receiving up to $25,000 each, these projects are exceptional examples of community-university partnerships addressing priority issues across the province.
